Snap Back

Newly remastered version of an album I originally released in 2006, now with 4 extra tracks (and free!). I have been studying mixing and mastering fervently for the past year and this was my first application of that information. I lack a subwoofer at this point, so I really am doing the best I can without. More information and some useful links can be found here.

(Track added April 30, 2012)

Fractal Nature (320kbps)

This track was inspired by Maxwell Igan, one of my favorite voices. More information and some useful links can be found here.

(Track added 09.18.10)

Update April 30, 2012: Oh boy, is this mix bad. I want to fix it, but I can't find the original project files (yet?), so maybe best to skip this one for now.

Hear Hear (320kbps) - 6 tracks zipped

I am happy to present to you a 'new' 6-track mini-album called Hear Hear. No new tracks, but some damn fine new mixes of a couple favorites. Feedback has been very nicely positive of late (even trolls couldn't help it!) and this is me giving back some. Far more information about this release can be found here at my blog post for this release. Only 320kbps from now on because it no longer makes no sense to mess with the others in a broadband world. Enjoy! I did. (Am.)

Rorschach - 1991 Revisited (.zip)

My long-imploded band, Rorschach. Original recordings from 1991 or so, newly unearthed and refreshed. I think they are cute. :)

Please see my blog post and this text for much more info.

Feeding Frenzy - aka Smart Maxwell (128kbps)

Here's the new track I said was forthcoming. It features Jordan Maxwell's terrific voice and messages, and was sampled from his appearances on The Alex Jones Show. Special thanks to you both, sirs.

My blog on the subject can be found here.

UPDATE! (08.02.08):Newly remastered version! If you downloaded it before this date, you got hosed! Try again for sonic thunder. :)

OHHH YEEAH! Inspired by (and many thanks to) Alex Jones of InfoWars.com, this tribute to Officer Jackboot was a true labor of love. All samples are taken from the original radio/internet broadcast and used by permission (at present, still implied, not expressed, but I am working on it). No, I am not being anti-police here; I am being anti-jackbooted-thug, as we ALL should be.

In any case, please enjoy the track. It took two weeks, Ableton Live and Audacity to achieve. ;)

UPDATE (7.29.08): There is now a video for this track. You can view it here. :)

FUGB1 (320kbps)
FUGB1 (192kbps)
FUGB1 (128kbps)

Ah yes...one bright Monday morning, The Bush pissed me off and I wrote this in his honor. I can't call it a pure brap, but it was slammed together so quickly that it sure seemed like one. Ableton Live is pretty cool.

UPDATE! (08.02.08):Newly remastered version! If you downloaded it before this date, you got hosed! Try again for MORE OBELISK! :)

Blue Lake (320kbps)
Blue Lake (192kbps)
Blue Lake (128kbps)

One of the first things I wrote after adding Ableton Live to my arse(heh)nal of sound. Like many of my creations, it was brought together very quickly...all from the heart, tho, babies. All from the heart.

UPDATE! (08.02.08):Newly remastered version! If you downloaded it before this date, you got hosed! Now with MAS AGUA! :)

MethylMagenta - Brapmix (320kbps)
MethylMagenta - Brapmix (192kbps)
MethylMagenta - Brapmix (128kbps)

This is a remix of a track called Methyl Magenta, which I did for my friend Jules, otherwise known as PinkLogik one fine Saturday morning on sudden inspiration. I love the youthful qualities I managed to interject with some random samples from SampleSwap and a whole lotta love.

UPDATE! (08.06.08):Newly remastered version! If you downloaded it before this date, you got gyped! Now with MAXIMUM PINK! :)

The Dander Lion (320kbps)
The Dander Lion (192kbps)
The Dander Lion (128kbps)

Oh, but what a labour of love we have here. The entire track is created under certain rules:

Basically, I played a short and very random passage on a softsynth I love called The Beast. I then did nothing but cut, paste and (drastically) alter pieces of this original passage until I got what you hear. There were planned drums and vocals, but my efforts to Beat It have thus far been thwarted (in favor of leaving it be, experimental as it may be).

UPDATE! (08.02.08):Newly remastered version! If you downloaded it before this date, you got hosed! Try again for FRESHER FELINE! :)

Brash Craps

This is made entirely from the sound of cymbals. Made to prove a silly point on SampleSwap. Just fun, nothing more.

For a time, I simply numbered my recordings.
I was only using Audacity to have some captures anyway...

brap206

You hear it as I invented it, live as live gets. I think I only picked one actual sound to start with and spent maybe 3 minutes before I started recording and began again.

brap205

Pure brappery. I have always preferred to make ambient noise than to listen to it. :)

brap199

Made from whole cloth...chose a few sounds and went with it on my ESX-1.

brap197

Made from whole cloth...chose a few sounds and went with it on my ESX-1.

brap195

This one is a second or third pass at something I made up whole...what I would call a 3rd-gen brap, perhaps.

Draft (brap157)
Draft (brap156)
Swings (brap154)

'Swings' is the first version of this, made-up as I went. The other two are the next passes through after some editing of sounds and such...which I believe followed the next day.

Selections from my 'Snap' phase...

Preface+Flow-T

The first two tracks of Snap as captured live one day. Dirty, but fun.

Snapilicious Mix

A captured portion of Snap, as it was built. Long and dirty, but fun. :)

Jack Cheese (Brap131)
Jack Cheese (TripA)

A couple of versions of one of my favorite bits of 'Snap'. TripA was a complete 'Snap' performance under, um, pleasant duress. ;) The other is just a favorite capture. Such a fun track to play.

Summary (TripA)

The 'official' last track on my 'Snap' Album...the performance definitely goes beyond that nowadays.

Brap128

This is an entire performance of 'Snap', with lots of extras. It's almost 100mb, so you have been warned.

I also see it as a reward for getting this far. Ssshh. ;)

Rorschach - Funguss Punch - (320kbps) - (256kbps) - (192kbps)

I dug-up some old tapes of myself in a band way back in the late 80's and early 90's. This is the first entry in some planned archiving via public presentation. :) I did most of what you hear, using ancient (and now decrepit or sold) machines to achieve what you hear. What you also will hear is me cutting my teeth in these fledgling tracks. More information and links to each of the six individual tracks can be found in this blog post.

I warn you right off that these are what I would call somewhat reasonable recordings of live performances, somewhat re-mastered for clarity and amplitude.

(Mini-album added 11.21.08)

Thanks for listening.

Peace.
